Full course description
This course prepares Texas educators and school personnel to support military-connected students and their families by addressing the educational impacts of military life, including mobility, deployment, and transitions. Delivered through five modules, the course examines academic, social, emotional, and transitional challenges across grade levels, including considerations for students with disabilities. Participants will review Texas laws, policies, and state initiatives related to military-connected students and learn how to apply these requirements in school settings. The course emphasizes the use of school and community support systems, including designated liaisons and transition personnel, to promote continuity and academic progress.
