Full course description

The EDF/ESF Overview course, available through TEA Learn, provides ESC staff with a foundational understanding of the Effective Districts Framework (EDF) and Effective Schools Framework (ESF), the diagnostic tools the Texas Education Agency uses to evaluate systems-level and campus-level effectiveness across districts and schools. This course is well suited for ESC staff who would benefit from grounding in our core frameworks, as well as for those who support districts or campuses through the EDF/ESF diagnostic process and would benefit from additional context. It is also appropriate for any staff who wish to strengthen their understanding of the diagnostic process without pursuing certification. This course does not require certification to complete and is intended to build foundational awareness and understanding rather than to prepare staff for a certified diagnostician role. Completion of this overview does not count toward EDF/ESF certification. Staff who wish to pursue certification in the future will be required to complete a separate, more intensive course that includes additional assessment and practicum components.
