Welcome to Supports for Participation. Welcome to Supports for Participation. This training was developed by Texas SPED Support in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency. 

This is the fourth in our Inclusion Series.  This course is focused on how to plan supports for a student with complex access needs to participate in the general education classroom. The content in this training aligns with the information in Chapter 9 of Cheryl M. Jorgensen’s book (2018), It’s More Than “Just Being In:” Creating Authentic Inclusion for Students with Complex Support Needs.

The learning objectives for this training are:

  • Describe the process of planning student supports for participation and learning with commonly occurring instructional routines in a general education classroom
  • Enable teams to assess the fidelity of supports provided to a student with complex access needs
