Differential Diagnosis and Identification of Autism

This is the eighth course in a series of 10, 60-90 minute online courses. After completing the Autism Assessment Toolkit Part 8: Differential Diagnosis and Identification of autism, the participant will be able to discuss:

• the effects and consequences of delaying identifying children with autism
• the procedures and skills necessary for transdisciplinary assessment and diagnosis
• the pitfalls and “novice errors” of diagnosis due to behavioral assumptions and lack of training and experience
• the decision-making process for the differential diagnosis of autism.
